vicing this intercom.

• Toproperlyserviceanintercom:youmusthaveagoodunder-

standing of automotive electrical procedures and systems, along

with proﬁciency in the installation and service of safety warning

equipment.

• Aqualiedandcompetentelectronictechnicianmustperform

electronic circuit repairs.

• Yourhearingandthehearingofothers,inorclosetoyouremer-

gency vehicle, could be damaged by loud sounds. This can occur

from short exposures to moderately loud sounds. For hearing

conservation guidance, refer to federal, state, or local recom-

mendations.OSHAStandard1910.95offersguidanceon“Per-

missible Noise Exposure.”

• DONOTconnectthissystemtothepositiveofthebatteryuntil

servicing is complete, and you have veriﬁed that there are no

short circuits to ground.

• Inorderfortheintercomtofunctionproperly,thegroundcon-

nectionmustbemadetotheNEGATIVEbatteryterminal.

• Afterrepair,testtheintercomtoensurethatitisoperating

properly.

Failure to follow all safety precautions and instructions may result in

property damage, serious injury, or death to you or others.

A. GeneralIntercomFeatures.

The Atkinson Dynamics intercom is a heavy-duty, 2-way or 3-way, communica-

tions device designed for various heavy-duty applications. The basic model AD26-Z is

designed to operate on any 12VDC or 24VDC negative ground vehicle electrical system.
